Something so simple as putting the right set of pictures up on the walls has a transformative effect on every building. Patients and their families see the benefits straight away. The staff who work there every day also feel the positive change.
Adam, a creative director with a successful career in advertising and design, was recovering from a cancer operation in hospital in 2018. The ward did not have a single picture of the outside world on the walls and this exacerbated his feelings of isolation.
With his many years experience working with photography he knew he could transform the atmosphere into a bright and positive space. After making a full recovery in 2019 he started Wellbeing Windows. Now we have many installations in hospital wards, children's mental health centres, health and wellbeing hubs, care homes and GP practices.
Adam now works full time as our Creative Director and continues to expand the opportunities to make more people feel better through pictures.
“Just hearing the amount of positive comments about our new photos really makes you think about how something as simple as this, can be so important for the staff and patient experience.”
Every set of Wellbeing Windows images are unique and tailored to the individual ward, hospital, clinic or other institutions. See our latest case histories to learn more about the transformative effects of our services.
This newly renovated 56 bed ward required a large set of 32 Wellbeing Windows photographic artworks. These were positioned throughout the ward’s internal corridors, bed bay entrances and around the relatives' waiting room.
We chose imagery to create a positive environment as clients climbed the stairs to begin their appointment. This effect was also important as clients exited the building after their appointment too.
Alan Morkill house is a 50 room care home over looking Memorial Park. It is a large property spread out over four floors and each level has its own lounge and dining room for residents to use during the day.
Wellbeing Windows is grateful for the financial support and professional engagement from these organisations:
